Pinterest

After getting past the point of wanting to make nothing but Harold Pinter-related jokes about Pinterest, I finally requested an invite for the site. It’s a form of social media and I feel like I should know how to use it. To test it, I thought I would use the site for putting together boards on favorite pieces from fashion collections (Fall ‘11 RTW, Couture ‘12, etc.) and maybe favorite cars from production years for Punching a Jayhawk.

This is what I’ve found out:

1). Pinterest has yet to get back with me on that invite. For some context on the length I’ve waited, I’ve heard back from officials at the City of Chicago and major corporations quicker than I’ve heard back from Pinterest.

2). I could get a Pinterest account by connecting my Facebook account to Pinterest. However, I happen to have an aversion to connecting apps to my Facebook account—the only one I have is Spotify—and would have to get over this.

Or, Pinterest could hurry up and respond to people who have requested invites. The website has gotten to be big and not overhyped like Google+ was, so they could always open it up to everyone. That is not to sound like “Waaaahh, I want a Pinterest too!” I just think that you could maybe get more people if you responded to their requests for invites.
